Cheers to Three Years!
As we enter our third year at Monadnock Shutter and Shade, we are grateful for where we are and focused on what comes next. This feels like a good moment to pause and reintroduce ourselves.
For anyone new here, Monadnock Shutter and Shade is a local, family-owned business based in Keene, New Hampshire, rooted in the Monadnock Region.
When we say local and family owned, we mean it literally. Our founder, Matt DeGrosky, has worked in the window covering industry for more than 15 years and has built long standing relationships throughout the region based on experience, craftsmanship, and trust. He is also my dad. Our family has lived in Keene since 2006. My husband made the move here in 2012, and we have been here ever since, living, working, and raising our family in this community. This region is not just where we do business, it is where our life happens.
If you have stopped by our showroom, you may have noticed an unusually well-equipped kids’ area, sometimes a highchair, and perhaps an actual baby. That is because this business has grown alongside our family. My daughter Isabella worked alongside me as our first ‘Customer Engagement Officer’ before starting school at 15 months old in January 2024, just down the street from the showroom. Rosalyn followed in her sister’s footsteps, working alongside me here from the spring until starting school this week. These seasons have shaped how we have built the business and how we show up each day.
Our team has also grown and evolved. Sue has been an integral part of Monadnock Shutter and Shade for some time, bringing a strong design perspective and deep knowledge of our products. She also happens to be my mom. This year, she attended advanced training courses and drapery classes to further refine her skills, expanding the level of customization and expertise we can offer our clients.
March marked an important milestone as we doubled the size of our showroom and fully grew into our space. The expanded showroom allows us to better display products, host consultations, and create an environment that reflects the care we bring to every project.
What has never changed is our commitment to a personal, human approach. When you call during business hours, you speak directly with me at the showroom. There are no call centers or automated prompts, just real conversations with people who care about your home and your experience.
While Keene is our home base, we proudly serve homeowners throughout New England, including the Lakes Region, Upper Valley, Southern Vermont, and Western Massachusetts. Being independent allows us to offer a wide range of products and tailor solutions to the realities of New England living.
Most of all, we are thankful for the trust our customers place in us. Being invited into your home is never something we take lightly. Our focus is always on honest guidance, thoughtful solutions, and long-term satisfaction.
As we move into the year ahead, we look forward to continuing to serve this community with care and intention. We can’t wait to share exciting enhancements in the new year!
